How our architects work with you

Our initial meeting or site visit is free of charge because we feel it’s important for you to get to know us and feel confident that we understand your aspirations before you appoint us. 

We’ll start by talking about your requirements. Our architects will often sketch over existing plans with tracing paper and a pencil to help tease out ideas and help visualise the best solution. We’ll talk about different strategies for your projects and the likely implications on planning applications.

We’ll come away from the meeting and, once appointed, we’ll provide more detailed drawings, costings and timescales for the planning process. We’ll also provide advice about the need for tree, bat, typographical or ecological surveys. Where we can, we try and minimise the need for these requirements to help keep your costs down.

Upon submitting the final designs to the planning authorities on your behalf, our architects will be on hand to discuss any part of your scheme with the planners or make any modifications to help ensure planning permission is achieved.

With planning permission achieved, we can help guide you through the procurement of the planning permission, taking care of everything on your behalf - from obtaining building regulations approval, managing the tendering process for appointing contractors and producing schedules of work through to the project management of the build.
